Yard Fowl has taken a Bajan colloquialism and it its own. Their main dish is tasty Bajan chicken which they deliver right to your door. The client wanted to feature a chicken in the logo as well as the teal blue found in a rooster’s feathers.
Bowl’d is a trendy little walk-up located in one of the busiest areas of Barbados. The client already had an existing logo which is comprised of yellow, green and orange.
Here is an example of some of the items I’ve created. I complemented the logo by adding a dark chalkboard or wooden, rustic background as well as incorporated a few more colours to spice (pun intended :)) things up at times.
Amber Harvest is a sweet (pun intended :D), little company that produces raw, Barbadian honey. They wanted a clean and simple look, so I used a thin, sans serif font with a simplified bee in a flower motif for their logo.
The name of this company is derived from the client’s Spanish heritage. Marivent is an amalgam of the Spanish (Catalán) words mar y vent which means sea and wind in English. I chose to use “M” and “V” to create a cornerstone, the dark blue for the sea and light blue for the wind.
Subtle Shimmer by Charlene offers beauty products and spa services. The client loved the idea of a clean, sophisticated look for her logo which featured her chosen colour, purple. To help clients see and understand the potential of their logo, I include mood boards and mockups in their options.
Everyone is happy when they can save more and this is what the client wanted to portray to potential patrons. With its bold typeface and punctuation mark bursting through the shopping bag, the logo trumpets huge savings at this store!
360 Upholstery Cleaning specialises in restoring furniture, rugs, mattresses, baby gear and more. They so strongly believe in the efficacy of their service, their slogan is, “Why Buy New, When You Can Renew?”. So to convey the tenacious spirit of the company I emphasised the “360”, which denotes a complete clean, used chunky fonts and rich complementary colours.
